Questions & Answers Before Your Tattoo Appointment

1. Does getting a tattoo hurt?
Yes, getting a tattoo involves pain – how much depends on the tattoo style, the body area, and your personal pain tolerance. Areas like the ribs, neck, or joints are considered particularly sensitive.
.

2. How should I prepare for my appointment?
-
Come well-rested, with a full stomach and properly hydrated.
-
No alcohol, drugs, or blood-thinning medication (e.g., aspirin) for at least 24 hours beforehand.
-
Wear comfortable clothing that gives easy access to the area being tattooed.
-
Please don’t shave the area beforehand – the studio will take care of it hygienically if necessary.
-
Avoid intense workouts or heavy sweating right before your appointment.

3. When should I not get a tattoo?
There are situations in which getting tattooed increases the risk of complications, poor healing, or infections. Avoid tattooing if:

-
You are sick (e.g., with a fever, cold, or flu)
-
You are pregnant or breastfeeding
-
You have skin issues in the tattoo area (e.g., eczema, psoriasis, open wounds)
-
You’ve had recent sunburn or intense sun exposure – the skin must be fully healed
-
You’re just before or just after a summer holiday with sun, sea, or chlorinated water – fresh tattoos must be protected from sun, salt water, and pool water
-
You are taking antibiotics or corticosteroids – both affect your immune system and skin healing
-
You’ve had a recent vaccination – wait at least 48 to 72 hours so your immune system can recover
-
You’ve consumed alcohol, drugs, or taken blood-thinners (e.g., aspirin, Marcumar)
-
You’ve recently had surgery or have a weakened immune system
If you’re unsure, talk to your tattoo studio or a medical professional. A safe and healthy starting point is key to a beautiful tattoo and proper healing.

4. Can I bring someone with me to the appointment?
Our studio allows one companion, but not more. Please leave children and pets at home.

.
5. Do I need to pay a deposit?
No deposit is required – each appointment is based on mutual respect. If you don’t show up without notifying us, you won’t be offered another appointment.

.
6. How much will my tattoo cost?
That depends on size, style, placement, and complexity. You’ll receive a rough price estimate along with your appointment proposal. Later changes to the design may affect the price.

.
7. Can I bring my own ideas or designs?
Absolutely! Personal sketches, images, or inspiration help make your tattoo unique.
Just keep in mind that each artist works in their own style and will adapt your ideas accordingly.
.

8. How long does a tattoo appointment take?
The duration varies greatly depending on the design – from 30 minutes to several hours. Larger tattoos often require multiple sessions.
Please plan some extra time around your appointment, just in case it takes longer.

.
9. Can I work out before or go to the gym afterwards?
Before: Light exercise is fine, as long as you’re not exhausted.
After: Avoid sports, sweating, and friction for at least a few days (7–10), to not disturb the healing. Avoid saunas and baths for at least the first 3 weeks of the healing process.

.
10. What should I wear to the appointment?
Wear comfortable, dark clothing that allows easy access to the tattoo area. This way, any ink stains won’t bother you.
For example: bring loose shorts for leg tattoos or a loose shirt for chest or back tattoos.

.
11. What if I get sick or need to cancel the appointment?
Let us know as early as possible if you get sick or need to reschedule. Honesty and timely communication are important so we can fairly offer your spot to someone else.
